Wales weather: Met Office warning for thunderstorms
The Met Office has issued a weather warning for thunderstorms covering the whole of Wales over the weekend.
The yellow weather warning has been issued on Saturday between 14:00 BST and 21:00.
A further warning, running from 12:00 BST to 21:00 on Sunday, was later added.
The forecaster said it expected high temperatures could trigger some torrential and thundery showers.
It also warned there was a small chance of flooding or lightning strikes causing travel disruption or power cuts.
Both warnings cover all 22 of Wales' local authority areas.
BBC weatherman Derek Brockway said the predicted storms would follow several weeks of dry weather.
In Swansea, he said, the last time it had rained was 8 May while in Prestatyn, Flintshire, rain was last reported on 22 May.
In other parts of north Wales some weather stations last reported rain on 18 and 19 May.
Derek said it was unusual for it to be dry for so long, but that that would change with low pressure near Portugal set to influence Wales' weather.
He said it would get warmer and more humid with warmer nights.
"Some showers and thunderstorms are expected over the weekend too," he said.
"However, the storms will be hit and miss. Not everywhere will see them but where they do occur, there is a risk of torrential downpours, hail and gusty winds."
There would, he said, be some welcome rain for gardeners and farmers, adding: "Amounts of rain will vary from place to place.
"Next week a few scattered showers, heavy and thundery in places, otherwise a lot of dry weather."
Along with sunny spells the weather would be warm with above average temperatures.
