PRAYAGRAJ: Taking a swipe at opposition parties' efforts to forge an alliance for the forthcoming parliamentary elections, Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya on Thursday said these rival political camps had made a similar attempt during the 2019 LS polls to stop BJP but had failed and 2024 will be no different.
"BJP will win all 80 Lok Sabha seats in state in 2024 parliamentary polls. The atmosphere in UP is in favour of BJP. All the rival political camps will disappear after 2024 parliamentary polls and lotus will bloom again," he said. Maurya was in Sangam city to attend ae workshop of the beneficiaries of the PM and CM Awas Yojana at parade ground. He also sought public support to make Narendra Modi as Prime Minister for third consecutive term in 2024 parliamentary polls. Maurya unveiled as many as 347 projects worth Rs 52 crore of the rural development department. He handed over keys of PM Gramin Awas Yojana to the beneficiaries. "BJP-led Central government has offered more than 4 crore houses to beneficiaries across the country. Around 2 lakh houses were constructed under PM and CM Awas Yojana in Prayagraj district alone that is a record in itself," he said.
Targeting Congress leadership, Maurya said "Congressmen often give slogans like remove poverty, but they had done nothing for the poor and down trodden when in power. PM Modi understands the problems and issues of poor people and so he is making constant efforts to bring provide permanent roof for the poor."
Maurya said "BJP led Union and state governments are running many public welfare schemes and aims that benefits reach the last person."
The Deputy CM also called upon people to work for water conservation, environment protection and planting of saplings and maintain ground water level. He also stressed on women empowerment.
Referring to Lucknow court incident, Maurya said it was a serious concern for both government and police. He said the state government has formed a three-member SIT to probe the incident.
The SIT will not only reveal the truth behind the incident but also help authorities to check such incidents.
On SP chief Akhilesh Yadav's meeting with Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Maurya said: "I don't know whether SP is going to merge with AAP or AAP is going to merge into SP. What I know is that lotus (party symbol of BJP) will bloom once again. It is a shield of protection and guarantee of development."
