Kanpur: The police have arrested three persons in connection with a theft case wherein cash and valuables worth Rs 12 lakhs were stolen from a bakery owner and trader Jaikishan Tahilramanai’s house in Pandu Nagar area of the city on June 5 night.
DCP Central Pramod Kumar said that the theft was planned by Tahilramani’s driver -Rahul Gupta and his accomplices -Vimal Kushwaha and Siddarth Kushwaha.
“Initial investigation revealed that the driver’s activities were suspicious. On being questioned, he confessed to committing crime along with his two accomplices,” said the DCP.
The three accused have been booked under IPC sections 380 (theft), 457 (Lurking house-trespass or house-breaking by night in order to commit offence) and 461 (Dishonestly breaking open receptacle containing property) and sent to jail on Thursday, DCP added. tnn
