1 crushed to death during morning walk

BHAGALPUR: One Lakhan Razak, 62, was crushed to death while Lakhanlal Sharma (80) and Sidho Yadav (55) were injured after being hit by a truck at Kiranpur turning point on Sahkund-Amarpur road in Bhagalpur early Wednesday morning.
Razak belonged to Dohradih Pustiya village of Deendayalpur panchayat under Sahkund police station area. The three were sitting on the roadside after morning walk when the driver lost control and the speeding truck hit them. While Razak died on the spot, the injured were rushed to the referral hospital where doctors referred them to Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital (JLNMCH) at Bhagalpur.
The villagers put up a road blockade with the body for more than two hours. Sahkund BDO Abhinav Bharti, along with the Sahkund police team, reached the spot and pacified them to lift the blockade. The BDO announced a compensation of Rs 4 lakh.
