Stock market update: Nifty IT index falls 0.57% in an upbeat market

NEW DELHI: The Nifty IT index traded negative around 11:01AM(IST)on Thursday in an upbeat market.

Infosys(up 0.02 per cent) were among the top gainers.

LTIMindtree Ltd(down 1.33 per cent), Persistent Systems(down 1.19 per cent), MPhasis(down 0.94 per cent), Tata Consultancy(down 0.82 per cent) and Wipro(down 0.7 per cent) were the top losers on the index.

The Nifty IT index was down 0.57 per cent at 28749.8 at the time of writing this report.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 43.35 points at 18769.75, while the BSE Sensex was up 147.95 points at 63290.91.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 27 were trading in the green, while 23 were in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, Reliance Power, Vodafone Idea and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of JBM Auto, Sahyadri Ind, Dynamic Services, Zen Tech and Nirman Agri Genetics hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while NIIT, Parin Furniture, Praxis Home Retail, Auro Impex & Chemic and Cerebra Integrat hit fresh 52-week lows in trade.
