I breastfed my children because I’m a bit rubbish at maths and wanted to lose weight. Yes, yes I’d heard the phrase ‘breast is best’ being thrown around and it was vaguely incentivising, but I can’t lie, I was also greatly swayed by the antenatal class midwife’s promises of vanishing pregnancy pounds, all the endless formula weighing and sterilising sounded like a faff and it was free – hurrah!
