Stock market update: Sugar stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:45AM

Ugar Sugar Works(up 4.60%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(up 2.60%), Triveni Engineering & Industries(up 2.24%), Mawana Sugars(up 2.14%), Shree Renuka Sugars(up 1.46%), Sakthi Sugars(up 0.97%), BAJAJHIND(up 0.96%), Uttam Sugar Mills(up 0.95%), K.M.Sugar Mills(up 0.93%) and Balrampur Chini Mills(up 0.84%) were among the top gainers.

Ponni Sugars(Erode)(down 1.53%), DCM Shriram Industries(down 0.86%), MAGADHSUGAR(down 0.77%) and Bannari Amman Sugars(down 0.01%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 45.6 points up at 18772.0, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 144.29 points at 63287.25 at around 10:45AM.

NTPC(up 3.41%), JSW Steel(up 3.36%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 2.3%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.56%), Hero MotoCorp(up 1.25%), HDFC(up 0.95%), Cipla(up 0.95%), HDFC Bank(up 0.92%), Larsen & Toubro(up 0.9%) and IndusInd Bank(up 0.83%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 1.39%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.33%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.26%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 1.02%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 1.01%), Eicher Motors(down 0.98%), Tata Consultancy(down 0.85%), Nestle India(down 0.73%), Axis Bank(down 0.67%) and Wipro(down 0.61%) were trading in the red.
