KIIT offers jobs to kin of those killed
Bhubaneswar: The KIIT group of institutions will provide employment to one family member each of the 39 dead from Odisha in the Balasore train accident and free education to students in these families, KIIT founder Achyuta Samanta announced on Wednesday.
“We cannot reduce the sorrow of the family members, who lost their dear ones in the train accident. But we will try our best to support them. We will try to support the victims’ families by offering a job to one member from each family at KIIT or Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS) as per their eligibility, and provide free education to their children at KIIT and KISS as per their eligibility from Class I to higher level. We will inform them how to apply for the job as well as free education,” he said.
During Covid-19, KIIT had come forward to support hundreds of students who lost their parents in the pandemic by providing free education, jobs to the family members of the Covid victims, and helped common people through different means. Of the 288 who lost their lives in the train accident at Bahanaga in Balasore district on June 2, as many as 39 are natives of Odisha.
