2023 Emmy Predictions:
Outstanding Comedy Series
Weekly Commentary: The “final(?)” season of “Ted Lasso” from Apple TV+ is the reigning champion after winning the last two years consecutively. Will the TV Academy go for it one last time?
Depends on if the momentum for ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” or FX’s “The Bear” can sustain going into the summer months. In the case of the latter, the second season will be airing during final voting which could help in its quest for taking home the big prize.
There are also the final seasons of two Emmy darlings — HBO’s “Barry” and Prime Video’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” — which could get the established voters back on board.
