Both Spideys are featured in the art of the cover. Both Peter and Miles are shooting webs from their hands, while putting their Electric and Symbiote powers on display.
While talking about Kraven the Hunter, creative director Bryan Intihar said that Kraven is the best hunter in the world, and he has come to New York for his greatest hunt, which includes all the Marvel characters in the city, seemingly teasing other heroes and villains that await us in the new game.
Another piece of art is shown, and this time it is Peter and Miles engaging in combat with Venom. Intihar said that this Venom is not Eddie Brock and Insomniac wanted to tell an original story, so players will just have to play to know who Venom actually is.
Intihar also talked about how Symbiote powers will impact the gameplay and combat. He revealed that there will be a lot more strength, raw power and aggression added to the gameplay and Peter’s character which will be shown through the story too.
The world of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 has also become much more expansive, with the inclusion of Manhattan, Queens, and Brooklyn. Intihar adds that “the city has pretty much doubled in size.” That is why web wings have also been added to traverse much faster than before.
Finally, the news everybody has been waiting for, Insomniac has revealed the release date for the title. Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be arriving on October 20, 2023, exclusively for the PlayStation 5.
