Stock market update: FMCG stocks up as market rises

NEW DELHI: FMCG stocks were trading higher on Thursday at 10:14AM

Hatsun Agro Product Ltd(up 5.09%), Umang Dairies(up 3.11%), JHS Svendgaard Laboratories(up 2.45%), Nakoda Group(up 1.45%), ADF Foods(up 1.21%), Prataap Snacks(up 1.21%), Dangee Dums(up 1.08%), Jyothy Labs(up 0.78%), Zydus Wellness(up 0.72%) and Mrs Bectors Food Specialities(up 0.67%) were among the top gainers.

Varun Beverages(down 2.44%), Colgate Palmolive(India)(down 1.32%), Euro India Fresh Foods(down 0.98%), Nestle India(down 0.68%), Tasty Bite Eatables(down 0.60%), Sheetal Cool Products(down 0.57%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(down 0.51%), Parag Milk(down 0.33%), P & G Hygiene(down 0.31%) and Godrej Consumer Products(down 0.27%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 25.2 points up at 18751.6, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was up 99.52 points at 63242.48 at around 10:14AM.

NTPC(up 3.35%), JSW Steel(up 2.57%), Power Grid Corporation of India(up 1.84%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(up 1.59%), Hero MotoCorp(up 1.38%), Adani Enterprises(up 0.85%), HDFC(up 0.79%), Cipla(up 0.71%), IndusInd Bank(up 0.68%) and HDFC Bank(up 0.64%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.51%), Eicher Motors(down 1.33%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(down 1.24%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 1.17%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(down 0.99%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.85%), Tata Consultancy(down 0.82%), Divis Laboratories(down 0.79%), Wipro(down 0.7%) and Nestle India(down 0.65%) were trading in the red.
