Beware of cyber frauds: UP Board’s appeal to students
Prayagraj: With cyber frauds making constant calls to UP Board students and guardians and offering them increase in marks during scrutiny of answer sheets or assuring pass certificate to failed students in exchange of money, the authorities of UP Board have asked district inspectors of schools of the state to lodge complaints with police stations concerned and also take up an awareness campaign among students.
Secretary, UP Board, Divyakant Shukla told TOI, “UP Board authorities have taken theses measures after acknowledging the fact that conmen are making frequent calls to UP Board students and offering them success in exchange of money.
He, however, said the authorities of UP Board have approached police officials asking them to tighten the noose around these conmen making calls to high school and intermediate board students and assuring them ‘good marks’ to them, if they pay them.
At least four such cases were reported in Prayagraj range alone, he added.
Shukla, however, claimed that these conmen are making abortive bid to tarnish the image of UP board. He also added, “We are creating awareness among students particularly those who applied for scrutiny of answer sheets with an appeal that they (students or their guardians) should not fall in any trap of cyber frauds. DIOS of all districts have been asked to be alert and approach police higher ups of concerned districts if they notice such cases. The officials of board have also initiated steps for spreading awareness among students of all 75 districts so that they do not fall into the nefarious actions of fraudsters.”
