Nagpur: A biker and a roadside vendor on cart were injured near Ginger Mall in Jaripatka on Wednesday after an unidentified driver lost control on his sports car. While two were injured, many had a miraculous escape. Offence was registered at Jaripatka police station against the motorist who had fled the spot.
Cops raid shop, seize tobacco
Yashodhara Nagar police have raided a shop near Mohammad Rafi Square on Wednesday seizing prohibited flavoured tobacco worth more than ₹56,000. The cops have arrested the shop owner Mithilesh Batho. The key accused in the case, Aditya Gaur, who owned the prohibited tobacco, is still at large.
Man duped of ₹13L by fraudster
Praful Sonkusare was duped of Rs 13 lakh by one Saurabh Tripathi who posed as representative of a cement company. It’s learnt that Sonkusare was lured by Tripathi to supply him cement at a lucrative rate. Sonkusare had a requirement of around 5,000 cement bags. He had contacted the cement company after finding it’s contact details in the internet. Tripathi had asked Sonkusare to make advance payments before the delivery and continued to seek more amounts on some or the other pretext.
21-year-old man booked for rape
A 21-year-old man, Vishal alias Falli Gupta, was arrested for raping a 20-year-old woman at Wathoda and Wardha in a span of few days. He had forced himself upon her on June 2. The woman was also assaulted by Gupta when she had tried to resist his advances. Wathoda police registered have an offence. tnn
