Man injured after bottle in burning garbage bursts outside malkhana in Ludhiana court complex

LUDHIANA: A man suffered minor injuries after a bottle in a garbage, which was being burnt outside a malkhana (a storeroom where case properties are kept) in District Court complex, went off on Thursday.
Ludhiana police commissioner Mandeep Sidhu said that case properties of more than 25 to 30 years lying in malkhana was being shifted from there to various police stations. He added that some garbage was thrown out of the malkhana and the safai karamchari set it on fire.

Sidhu said that there may have been 40-50 bottles in the garbage and due to heat two to three bottles went off. He added that two to three glass pieces hit a man and he suffered minor injuries on his feet.
Meanwhile, local sources said that some window panes also got damaged after the bottle burst.
