Stock market update: Nifty Realty index falls 1.59%

NEW DELHI: The Nifty Realty index closed on a negative note on Thursday.

Shares of Prestige Estates Projects(up 0.37 per cent) and Mahindra Lifespace Developers(up 0.24 per cent) ended the day as top gainers in the pack.

On the other hand, Brigade Enterprises(down 2.61 per cent), Macrotech Developers(down 2.28 per cent), DLF(down 2.21 per cent), SOBHA(down 2.14 per cent) and Godrej Properties(down 1.5 per cent) finished as the top losers of the day.

The Nifty Realty index closed 1.59 per cent down at 498.25.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index ended down 91.85 points at 18634.55, while the BSE Sensex stood down 294.32 points at 62848.64.

Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 11 ended in the green, while 39 closed in the red.

Shares of Suzlon Energy, YES Bank, Vodafone Idea, Reliance Power and Zomato were among the most traded shares on the NSE.

Shares of Lloyds Luxuries, Essar Shipping, Shivalik Bimetal, TBZ and Dynamic Services hit their fresh 52-week highs in today's trade, while NIIT, Parin Furniture, GSS Infotech, Auro Impex & Chemic and Praxis Home Retail hit their fresh 52-week lows.
