Suspects in criminal’s murder detained: Cops

Ranchi: Some suspects in the killing of a murder accused, Tanveer Alam alias Bittu Khan, in Edalhatu under the Bariyatu police station area of Ranchi on Tuesday evening, were detained and being interrogated, police said on Wednesday.
Notably, four criminals on two bikes approached the victim and shot him seven times before fleeing. Alam, who received five bullet injuries, was declared brought dead in the hospital. Police have recovered empty cartridges from the spot.
The deceased was an accused of the murder of a criminal, Kalu Lama, in the high-security Morabadi area of Ranchi on January 27, 2022. Alam came out of jail on bail about six months ago.
The officer-in-charge of the Bariyatu police station, Gyan Ranjan, said they have got vital clues regarding the murder and some persons have been detained for questioning. They have also made enquiries from the locals and examined the CCTV camera footage regarding the incident, he added.
