RTNPOWER(up 19.40%), Suzlon Energy(up 18.44%), Torrent Power(up 12.34%), Orient Green Power Company(up 10.56%), Inox Wind Energy(up 9.07%), Reliance Power(up 8.46%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 7.56%), SJVN(up 6.27%), Alstom T&D India(up 5.00%) and Jyoti Structures(up 4.95%) stood among the top gainers.
Transformers and Rectifiers(India)(down 2.01%), NHPC(down 1.35%), Power & Instrumentation(Gujarat)(down 1.32%), KEC International(down 1.16%), ADANIGREEN(down 0.64%) and Hitachi Energy India(down 0.41%) were among the top losers of the day.
The NSE Nifty50 index ended 127.4 points up at 18726.4, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed up 350.08 points at 63142.96.
Britannia Industries(up 3.99%), TATA CONSUMER PRODUCTS(up 3.91%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation(up 3.36%), Nestle India(up 3.05%), HDFC LIFE INSURANCE(up 2.54%), JSW Steel(up 2.37%), Tata Steel(up 2.29%), Tata Motors(up 2.2%), SBI Life(up 1.86%) and Hero MotoCorp(up 1.83%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.
On the other hand, Cipla(down 1.19%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(down 1.0%), Bajaj Finance(down 0.48%), Mahindra & Mahindra(down 0.34%), Maruti Suzuki(down 0.29%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 0.22%), ICICI Bank(down 0.2%) and UPL Ltd(down 0.01%) closed in the red.
