Prayagraj: Timely intervention of cyber -crime cell of Fatehpur police helped as many as four persons including a constable to get Rs 90,260 back, which they had lost to online frauds. Cops said that four persons including Maiku of Rawatpur-Aung (Rs 50,000), Karuna Shankar Tiwari of Khambhapur ( Rs 24,350), Mohd Faizal of Lalauli (Rs 9,915) and constable Mahadev Singh ( posted at reserve police line in Fatehpur) had lost their money to online fraudsters through Any desk app and obtaining OTP methods. When the victims approached the sleuths of cyber-crime cell, the cops managed to get as many as 90,260 back in to the accounts of the victims. Cops said that they have tweaked their approach to tackle increasing instances of cybercrime reported in villages and blocks of the district. In many cases, police officers are now focusing on halting the transfer of stolen amounts so that they could be reverted to complainants rather than ending up with fraudsters.TNN
