In the Nifty index, Britannia Industries Ltd.(up 3.99 per cent), Tata Consumer Products Ltd.(up 3.91 per cent), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd.(up 3.36 per cent), Nestle India Ltd.(up 3.05 per cent) and HDFC Life Insurance Company Ltd.(up 2.54 per cent) stood among the top gainers.
On the other hand, Cipla Ltd.(down 1.19 per cent), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd.(down 1.00 per cent), Bajaj Finance Ltd.(down 0.48 per cent), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd.(down 0.34 per cent) and Maruti Suzuki India Ltd.(down 0.29 per cent) were among the top losers of the day.
