BAREILLY: A 35-year-old principal of a private school in Nawabganj area of UP's Bareilly district has been booked for raping a class X student for months and blackmailing her with videos of the act.
The survivor, 19, who belongs to the Dalit community, told police that in February her principal informed her that there was a mistake in her class X form and she won't be allowed to appear in her board exams, asking her to meet him in his house where she was raped. The accused shot a video and used it to threaten her and blackmail her further.
The student was thereafter sexually assaulted several times by the principal in his office after school. Police said that initial probe suggests the allegations to be true. SHO of Nawabganj, Rajeev Kumar, told TOI on Tuesday, "A complaint in this matter was lodged on Sunday. After preliminary investigation, an FIR has been registered under IPC sections 376-2N (commits rape repeatedly on same woman), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 504 (intentional insult) and 506 (criminal intimidation) along with the SC/ST Act on Monday against the accused, Parshuram Gangwar. We've found eight obscene videos, which were shot by someone else. That unidentified person has been booked for the crime too." Kumar further said, "Statements of the survivor and her brother have been recorded. The student was sent for medical tests on Tuesday. We've enough evidence against the school principal and he will be arrested soon. The accused is married and his family lives in Pilibhit."
In her statement, the student said she was often threatened to come to school at night where the accused sexually assaulted her and she remained quiet because of the videos.
