NEW DELHI: AIIMS Delhi's internal portal was once again hit by a cyber threat . The hospital administration said a malware attack bid was detected around 2.50pm on Tuesday by the cyber security system.
"The attempt was successfully thwarted and the threat was neutralised by cyber-security systems. The eHospital services remain to be fully secure and are functioning normally," it said in a statement.
"Precautions have been taken to ensure that such an incident does not happen again. A cyber security expert team will also look into the matter," an official said.
Union minister of state for skill development and entrepreneurship and electronics and IT Rajeev Chandrasekhar ruled out any cyber breach. He tweeted, "E-Hospital is an internal application not available for internet users. Someone may have tried accessing this portal and alert generated due to the security layer used by AIIMS. Same person may have taken a screenshot of the error message and circulated it. There is no cyber incident or breach. Error messages have also been rectified now."
In November 2022, the premier medical institute had faced disruption in its services due to a cyberattack.
The servers of AIIMS had then gone out of order for a few days and two analysts were suspended for the alleged breach of cyber security. The internet services also remained blocked for several days as Delhi Police joined the investigation with Indian Computer Emergency Response Team and National Informatics Centre.
