Weather update: Temperature may rise in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi-NCR from 8 June, warns IMD

Earlier in the day, IMD also predicted that the heatwave will continue in Bihar between 7-11 June, West Bengal and Odisha between 7-10 June.

Amid the scorching heat giving no respite to the people living in North India, India Meteorological Department on 7 June said that the temperature is likely to increase in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi-NCR from 8-11 June.

Speaking to news agency ANI, IMD Delhi's Regional Head Kuldeep Srivastava said, “Temperature is likely to increase in Uttar Pradesh. From 8th-11th June, in some parts of June, the temperature can go up to 45°C. Sky will be clear in Delhi, and in the next 2-3 days, 2-3°C will increase, by the 10th or 11th Delhi-NCR temperature can go up to 41°C."

Earlier in the day, IMD also predicted that the heatwave will continue in Bihar between 7-11 June, West Bengal and Odisha between 7-10 June.

Also heatwave will continue in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Rayalseema, Telangana, Jharkhand and coastal Andhra Pradesh between 7-11 June.

Suggesting measures, IMD advised people to avoid venturing out unless important, drink sufficient water and avoid heat exposure. It suggested people to cover head with a cloth, hat or umbrella too.
