Kanpur: MP/MLA court Kanpur Nagar on Tuesday recalled its order on non-bailable warrant against prosecution witness field unit inspector Praveen Srivastava when he appeared in the court and tendered apology in Jajmau arson case in which
Samajwadi Party MLA Irfan Solanki and five others have been made accused.
The prosecution witness recorded his statement and was thereafter cross-examined by the defence battery. According to Bhaskar Mishra, additional district government counsel, cross-examination of prosecution witness concluded this day. The court fixed June 7 as next date of hearing. According to additional district government counsel, Irfan was summoned by lower MP/MLA court in an old case, in which charges had been framed against him.
The SP MLA, his brother and about six persons have been accused in an arson case registered on the complaint of Nazir Fatima of Jajmau, who had alleged that Irfan Solanki, his brother Rizwan Solanki and others had allegedly set her hut on fire on November 7, 2022 with intention to grab the plot on which she resided. Police had registered a case under section 436/506/147/ 327/427/386/504/120 b IPC against the accused.
