Gurgaon: A 59-year-old man was allegedly punched in the face by a youngster after a fender bender on the MG Road near Sikandarpur metro station on Saturday afternoon, police said.
The man said he was leaving the metro station around 12.15pm, when he had to brake suddenly because of traffic.
As his car came to a halt, a Volkswagen car behidn him rammed into his.
Once traffic moved, the youngster overtook his car and blocked his way.
“He came out of the car and punched me in the face and threatened me with dire consequences. I started bleeding. As I was not feeling well, I returned home and then visited the police station the next day to file a complaint,” the complainant told police on Sunday.
An FIR was registered against the unidentified driver at the DLF Phase-2 police station on Sunday night.
The accused has been booked under under sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 341 (wrongfully restrained) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.
Police said on Tuesday they have started an investigation, but the accused is yet to be traced. The complainant has submitted a medical report too.
“The matter took place on Saturday, but the victim visited the police station personally on Sunday. He requested a medical examination and asked to register an FIR. Teams took him to a government hospital for the medical examination and, following a written complaint, we have registered an FIR into the matter. We have the registration number of the vehicle, and we are also looking for CCTV footage from nearby areas. The accused will be arrested soon,” the police officer investigating the case said.
