NAGPUR: Decomposed body of 76-year-old Sri Lankan national Arunasalam Sivarajah was found near Godhni railway tracks on Tuesday. A passport and visa lying beside the body helped police identify the deceased, whose
death, however, remains mired in mystery.
Mankapur police were alerted after the decomposed body was found. The description on his passport said the Sri Lankan national was a pensioner. Police also found some cash on him but his luggage or mobile have not been found till date.
Police said prima facie Sivarajah had landed at Chennai Airport on May 21. The entry in the visa shows Sivarajah was heading to Varanasi, and also mentioned the name of a hotel he was expected to check in.
Senior inspector Shubhangi Wankhede of Mankapur police station said the deceased is likely to have fallen off from a running train.
