    Stock market update: Stocks that hit 52-week highs on NSE in today's trade

    NEW DELHI: Shares of Welspun Invst, Suzlon Energy, Torrent Power, Strides Shasun and Texmaco Rail, hit their fresh 52-week highs during Wednesday's trade on NSE.

    Benchmark NSE Nifty closed 127.4 points up at 18726.4 amid buying in frontline bluechip counters.

    However, stocks such as Paras Petrofils, Bombay Metrics Suppl, Auro Impex & Chemic, Lexus Granito(India)and Quicktouch Technolog, touched their fresh 52-week lows.

    Overall, 42 shares ended in the green in Nifty50 index, while 8 closed in the red.

    In the Nifty 50 index, Britannia, Tata Consumer, BPCL, Nestle India and HDFC Life were among top gainers during the day, while Cipla, Kotak Bank, Bajaj Finance, M&M and Maruti Suzuki ended in the red.

    The BSE Sensex closed 350.08 points up at 63142.96.

    Traders piled up positions in Telecommunications, Sugar, Cables, Hospitals & Allied Services and Power sectors, while selling was witnessed in Trading, Real Estate, Media & Entertainment, General and IT - Hardware sectors during the day.
