PremiumBeing a popular country for the scorching heat in the summer, India may witness severe heat waves in several states till June 10, while IMD has predicted light rainfall for the northeast and northwest regions.
The weather office has said that the maximum temperature is likely to be 39°C-41°C and about 2°C-4°C above normal at a few pockets over Tamil Nadu and Puducherry during the next two days.
However, the maximum temperature is below normal in many places over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, and Muzzafarabad, according to the IMD bulletin.

1) Leh is currently the coldest place in India with a maximum temperature of 9.2 degrees Celcius.
2) After Leh, Gulmarg in Kashmir has recorded a maximum temperature of 12 degrees Celcius today, becoming one of the coldest places in India.
3) Followed by Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir with a maximum temperature of 12.81 degrees Celcius.
4) In Jammu and Kashmir, Banihal also has a maximum temperature of 16.2 degrees Celcius today.
5) Apart from these places, Srinagar is also one of the coldest places in India today as the city recorded a maximum temperature of 16 degrees Celcius.

1) Currently, Satna in Madhya Pradesh is one of the hottest places in the country with a maximum temperature of 33.2 degrees Celcius.
2) Followed by MP's Jabalpur which has recorded a maximum temperature of 33.2 degrees Celcius today.
3) However, Madhya Pradesh's Rajgarh overtakes Satna and Jabalpur as the district recorded a maximum temperature of 35.51 degrees Celcius.
4) In Chhattisgarh, Rajnandgaon is also one of the hottest places in India as it has recorded a maximum temperature of 36 degrees Celcius.
5) The national capital surpassed all the above-mentioned places with a maximum temperature of 39 degrees Celcius in Delhi.
