Cincinnati Reds, others react to long-awaited promotion of top prospect Elly De La Cruz

The Cincinnati Reds called up their star minor-league shortstop and top prospect, who was named last month as MLB's top overall prospect by ESPN, one week after he hit a two-run, walk-off home run for the Triple-A Louisville Bats in the bottom of the 9th of a 5-4 win against Worcester.
De La Cruz is the No. 4 overall prospect according to MLB Pipeline. He hit .298 with 12 homers and an OPS of 1.031 in 38 games at Triple-A Louisville.
De La Cruz joins the Reds ahead of a three-game series at Great American Ball Park against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
