‘Success requires commitment’

Mysuru: Achieving success requires commitment, said Shalvapille Iyengar, chairman, department of studies and research in ancient history and archaeology, Karnataka State Open University.
Addressing parents and students during the inauguration of classes of pre-university courses at Hari Vidyalaya, Bogadi, Iyengar said that just by completing a course or degree one may not get a job. “It requires dedication and focus. People often come to me seeking advice about choosing a course that would get them jobs soon after the completion of the course but I advise them to first dedicate themselves to studies,” he said.
On the occasion, he also highlighted the importance of developing faith in Indian culture and showing respect for elders.
