Woman tortured for giving birth to triplet girls

SURAT: A 30-year-old woman has lodged a complaint against her husband and in-laws alleging that they were torturing her for giving birth to female triplets.
Due to the domestic issues between the husband-wife duo, one daughter lives with the mother while her two sisters live with the father in Jalgaon in Maharashtra.
The woman, living in Limbayat, told police that she was married to the man from Jalgaon in 2009. After she gave birth to triplets in 2015, her husband, parents, his brother, and his wife, started inflicting mental harassment on the woman.
The woman alleged in her complaint that her father-in-law constantly taunted her saying that her father did not care to bear the hospital expenses when the triplets were born.
She alleged that her in-laws and husband's brother thrashed her pipe once after some altercation. Due to physical abuse, the woman returned to her father's house in Limbayat from Jalgaon. Her husband did not care to come and take back their daughter
She lodged a complaint with the Mahila police station on Monday.
Police booked the five accused for domestic violence and other relevant sections of IPC.
