Stock market update: Sugar stocks down as market falls

NEW DELHI: Sugar stocks were trading lower on Tuesday at 10:09AM

DCM Shriram Industries(up 0.88%), BAJAJHIND(up 0.67%), Rana Sugars(up 0.22%), Ponni Sugars(Erode)(up 0.22%), Sakthi Sugars(up 0.21%) and Rajshree Sugars & Chemicals(up 0.13%) were among the top gainers.

Dharani Sugars & Chemicals(down 1.76%), Dhampur Sugar Mills(down 1.56%), Mawana Sugars(down 1.30%), Balrampur Chini Mills(down 1.05%), Ugar Sugar Works(down 1.03%), MAGADHSUGAR(down 0.75%), Uttam Sugar Mills(down 0.75%), Shree Renuka Sugars(down 0.59%), AVADHSUGAR(down 0.56%) and Dwarikesh Sugar Industries(down 0.50%) were among the top losers.

The NSE Nifty50 index was trading 16.4 points down at 18577.45, while the 30-share BSE Sensex was down 76.18 points at 62711.29 at around 10:09AM.

UltraTech Cement(up 1.92%), Maruti Suzuki(up 1.3%), Divis Laboratories(up 1.23%), Asian Paints(up 1.13%), Titan Company Ltd(up 1.1%), Kotak Mahindra Bank(up 1.09%), Hero MotoCorp(up 0.95%), Grasim Industries(up 0.95%), Axis Bank(up 0.84%) and Adani Enterprises(up 0.77%) were among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Tech Mahindra(down 2.3%), Infosys(down 1.58%), HCL Technologies(down 1.43%), Tata Consultancy(down 1.23%), Wipro(down 1.01%), ICICI Bank(down 0.66%), Tata Steel(down 0.59%), Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 0.58%), Apollo Hospitals Enterprises(down 0.48%) and Coal India(down 0.39%) were trading in the red.
