Talk to students against using drugs, cops told

Coimbatore: City police commissioner V Balakrishnan asked police personnel to meet first year students and sensitize them on ill-effects of drugs, eve-teasing and cybercrime offences.
Addressing reporters, Balakrishnan said students who passed the Class XII exams, have joined various colleges in the city. “The colleges would conduct orientation programmes for the first year students soon. Women police personnel under the police akka initiative will address first year students. The station house officers (SHG) of every police stations should also sensitize the students on drugs, eve-teasing and cybercrimes,” he said.
