AHMEDABAD: The health department of the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation sealed 13 eateries on Monday for unhygienic conditions in their kitchens.
Health department teams carried out random checks on these food outlets and found that their kitchens were filthy, and food was kept in unhygienic manners. A statement from the department said that teams destroyed 486kg of food items that were found to be unfit for human consumption.
The sealed food shops include Italian Pizza at Law Garden, Krishna Food Centre at Chandlodia, Ashapura Bhojnalay at Gota, Balaji Chinese Food at Sarkhej and New Raipur Bhajiya House at Sarangpur Darwaza. The department also collected Rs 10,000 in fines from the owners of these sealed shops.
