CM to open 45 health and wellness centres today

Coimbatore: Chief minister M K Stalin will inaugurate 45 health and wellness centres, constructed by the city corporation, through videoconferencing on Tuesday.
The CM will also inaugurate two such centres built by the Pollachi municipality, one by the Mettupalayam municipality and one by the Valparai municipality.
As many as 63 health and wellness centres were allotted to the city corporation, an official said. “Each centre was constructed at a cost of 25 lakh. However, only 45 will be inaugurated on Tuesday. Doctors and nurses required for the centres are currently deployed in urban primary health centres. They will be shifted to the new centres after inauguration.”
There will be two health and wellness centres under each urban primary health centre. The initiative is expected to make health care accessible for all, by providing a health facility close to homes.
