NEW DELHI: The environment ministry played The Times of India’s Tiger Anthem at its World Environment Day function in Vigyan Bhawan on Monday. Played as part of a larger pre-ministerial event video, the film was screened twice.
The anthem — a song and a short film on a tigress and her cub — was launched by environment minister Bhupender Yadav on May 24. It is part of TOI’s #SavingOurStripes campaign, launched on April 1 to commemorate 50 years of Project Tiger in India.

Prime Minister
Narendra Modi had last week lauded TOI’s effort and shared the tiger anthem on his Twitter handle.
The short film — which is a joint work of filmmaker S Nallamuthu, lyricist Tanveer Ghazi and composer Shantanu Moitra — closely tracks a playful tiger cub and its doting mother, while pitching for their protection.
