Govt surveying iron ore dumps

Panaji: Chief minister Pramod Sawant on Monday said that the directorate of mines and geology has started conducting survey to identify the quantity of iron ore dump. He added that the government has also decided to conduct third e-auction of mineral blocks.
He held a meeting with the directorate of mines and geology to discussed all the issues pertaining to mining, sand mining and laterite stone quarry. “We will put third e-auction of mineral block on fast track,” he said.
On laterite stone quarry, Sawant said there were issues of environmental clearance due to land issue.
The chief minister said that sand mining issues have been resolved.
Sawant said water conservation board meeting will be held between Goa and Maharashtra and will discuss the issues related to Tillari and Virdi dams.
