Fire breaks out at paint factory

Ludhiana: A fire incident was reported in a factory located in Neechi Mangli area on Monday. The factory is said to be engaged in production of polythene and paints. The fire officials who reached the spot to douse the fire claimed small blasts also occurred in thinner drums. The fire was controlled in almost an hour. Short circuit is suspected as the probable cause of fire and presence of chemicals helped the fire spread quickly. Sub-fire officer Aatish Rai said, “The fire had spread in the unit very fast. We prevented the fire from spreading further. A total of 6 fire tenders were used to control the blaze.” tnn
