GURGAON: The city's maximum temperature jumped five notches in a day to settle at 38.4 degrees Celsius on Monday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
Minimum temperature was recorded at 24.8 degrees Celsius on Monday.
But the city is likely to get isolated showers on Tuesday as a fresh western disturbance is set to affect the western Himalayan region starting from the night of June 5. "Light to moderate rain is likely to be seen at isolated places on June 6 and the weather will be dry thereafter in Haryana. The maximum temperature may rise by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius in the state during the next five days over the state," an IMD official said.
The minimum temperature will hover around 22-24 degrees Celsius and the maximum will be around 38 to 41 degrees Celsius. The city's AQI on Monday was recorded at 166 (moderate).
The daytime temperature - 37.8 degrees Celsius - in Delhi also saw a rise of 4.1 degrees Celsius on Monday. According to the weather department, the mercury level may reach 39 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. The minimum temperature in Delhi was at 37.8 degrees Celsius.
