Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Tuesday said that the government is committed to all-round development of the state from Pernem to Canacona and no constituency, even if represented by opposition, will be neglected.

Speaking at the commemoration of completion of 350 years of coronation day of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at Betul fort, Sawant said that “I am the chief minister of entire Goa and there will be no discrimination.”

He said that the government has always made funds available for the education sector and no government primary school or high school has
been neglected.

Speaking on the Morpirla school renovation, he said a short tender and work order has been issued after parents protested against the dilapidated condition, adding that, the work had been tendered earlier however there were no takers for it.

He said the government has maintained all government primary schools and high schools and if some school has remained without renovation it is purely due to oversight.

He said the government is committed to improving condition of people and villages as only then Goa will progress and develop. He said to achieve vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of Atmanirbhar Bharat “we need to make Goa Swayampurna and that will happen when villages become self-reliant.”

Paying tributes to Chhatrapati Shivaji was the first to sow the seeds of freedom and independence around 350 years ago. He said the vision of the great king is still applicable today, be it in the field of education, financial management, agriculture or water conservation.

Minister for Art and Culture Govind Gaude, Minister for Archives and Archaeology Subhash Phal Dessai, Quepem MLA Altone D’Costa, former deputy chief minister Chandrakant Kavlekar also spoke at the function.
