45-year-old woman axed to death

Nagpur: A 45-year-old woman, Hirabai Patil, was axed to death at her residence in Zilbodi village, Bhiwapur, on Sunday while she was sleeping. It’s learnt the unidentied assailant had fled the place after delivering the fatal blows to the deceased. Bhiwapur police are still trying to ascertain the motive behind the murder. An offence was registered at Bhiwapur police station following the murder.
Man gets 10 years for raping minor
The special judge for Protection of children from the sexual offenses Act, 2012, SR Trivedi had sentenced 24-year-old Yeshwant Gaur alias Assu to 10 years of imprisonment and fined Rs 10,000 for raping a 17-year-old girl in July, 2016. An offenze was registered at Gittikhadan police station. It’s learnt the court had convicted Gaur under section 376 (2) (J) (N) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) for 10 years and Rs 10,000 fine. The court had also convicted Gaur under section 506(2) of IPC for three years of imprisonment and fine of Rs 5,000.
Man booked for
raping minor
A 24-year-old man, Rakesh Saket, was booked for raping a 16-year-old girl over a period of time during their prolonged courtship from December last year. Saket had lured the girl to his residence and other places to force himself upon her. Dhantoli police have registered an offence against Saket following a complaint from her.

vehicle overturns
A light carrier vehicle (LCV) overturned in front of Asha Hospital, Khaparkheda Road, on Sunday while taking a sharp turn at high speed. A 24-year-old man, Santosh Dukre, was killed in the accident. It’s learnt Santosh, his brother Komalchand and 12 others were heading to Bina for taking a bath when their vehicle met with the accident. tnn
