Sand mining scam: ED raids in J’khand, Bihar

Dhanbad/Hazaribag/Patna: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) teams on Monday conducted multiple raids on the premises of seven businessmen, including five in Dhanbad and two in Hazaribag. The raids were also conducted on the premises of JD(U) MLC Radhacharan Seth in Ara town of Bihar, and the residence of Subhash Yadav at Danapur's Naariyal Ghat in Patna, Bihar. Yadav, an RJD leader and considered close to Lalu Prasad. Yadav had contested the Lok Sabha election from the Chatra seat in Jharkhand.
In Dhanbad, the ED carried out searches on the premises of businessmen Jagnarayan Singh, Surinder Jindal, Ashok Jindal, Punj Singh, T P Singh and Ritesh Sharma. In Hazaribag, the residence of Sanjay Singh, the elder brother of Rajiv Singh, the DGP of strife-torn Manipur, was raided.
