Gang attacks duo over b’day fete

Mysuru: An argument over the celebration of the birthday of a resident in a public place in Neelakantha Nagar in Nanjangud ended up in an attack on two youths by a gang of five persons of the same locality late on Sunday.
Four of them have been arrested and police have stationed a force as a precaution as the accused belonged to a different faith, police said.
The accused – Shehansha, Shoaib, Jaffar, Salman, and Illu, attacked the complainant Ashok and his friends Prasad, Bharanidhar, and Prasad. Prasad and Bharanidhar who sustained injuries were shifted to hospital. They all are residents of Neelakantanagar.
Additional superintendent of police BN Nandini said the incident happened over the celebration of a birthday in a public place.
Police have booked a case against the accused for attempt to murder and voluntarily causing hurt. While four accused have been arrested, a search is on for another absconding accused, she added.
