Not trying to cover up train tragedy, says Vanathi
Coimbatore: BJP national women’s wing president Vanathi Srinivasan said that there was no attempt to cover up the Odisha train disaster and that the Centre would take all efforts to bring out the reasons behind the accident.
Talking to reporters in Coimbatore on Monday, she said the allegations of opposition parties that BJP was protecting railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw was wrong. “Centre is not trying to save anyone. Centre does not want to hide anything from the public. CBI probe has been ordered and it will be done in a transparent manner,” she said.
“Whoever is responsible for the accident, would be held accountable, irrespective of their position,” she said. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government is giving paramount importance to passengers’ safety. Because of one incident, we cannot forget all the good work done by the railway minister and Modi, she said.tnn
