NOIDA: The Noida Authority is planning to introduce food streets in the city and the planning department has been asked to create a blueprint for the project.
The first food street will come up at an existing vending zone at Sector 126, comprising over 70 shops. The area is currently undergoing renovation and is expected to be ready in a few days.
Inspired by the food streets in cities like Indore and Lucknow, the Noida Authority aims to turn Noida's zones into tourist attractions.
Officials said that visitors will have the opportunity to indulge in a variety of famous culinary delights. The streets will have vibrant lights, seating areas for visitors' convenience, dustbins in front of all the shops and adequate parking facilities.
"The vending zone in Sector 126 will serve as a prototype for the food streets. This zone currently has 75 shops. Visitors will be able to savour a wide range of food items here. The project is nearing completion and will soon be open to the public," said Indu Prakash Singh, officer on special duty, Noida Authority.
