Three charred to death, one injured in truck-tanker collision
Vadodara: Three persons were charred to death and one suffered from injuries when a truck and a tanker caught fire after colliding head-on in Padra taluka on Sunday morning. The accident took place at about 6.30am near Masar village that is located about 40 kilometres from Vadodara city.
“The truck loaded with tiles was on way to Maharashtra from Morbi. It collided head-on with an empty tanker on a state highway connecting Padra and Jambusar,” the police said.
The driver cabins of both the truck and the tanker burst into flames after the collision. Fire brigade personnel reached the spot within a few minutes and began dousing the flames. The traffic movement on Padra-Jambusar Road was halted for a couple of hours leading to traffic jams.
Drivers of both the vehicles and a tanker cleaner were charred to death, the police added. One truck cleaner received burn injuries and was rushed to the government hospital for treatment. The cops are trying to ascertain identity of the deceased.
