YouTuber, Trevor Jacob, faces potential prison time for a plane crash prank he orchestrated during a solo flight from Lompoc City Airport to Mammoth Lakes.

Trevor Jacob, a YouTuber orchestrated a daring plane crash prank during his solo flight journey from Lompoc City Airport in California to Mammoth Lakes. However, he is now paying the price of his careless act, according to media reports.

Just 35 minutes into the journey, Jacob claimed a sudden mechanical failure and ejected himself from the plane using a parachute. Miraculously, he landed safely, leaving the aircraft in the untouched wilderness of Los Padres National Forest. During this incident, the entire incident was recorded by a camera.

For more thrill, he later trekked to the plane crash site and retrieved the entire incident for evidence. Jacob's jaw-dropping stunt attracted scrutiny from aviation enthusiasts and federal agencies.

The visuals were shared on social media platforms. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) launched their investigations into the YouTuber plane crash video, according to a report published by the Hindustan Times.

The YouTuber said that the whole incident was part of a sponsorship deal. His flying license has been revoked, but the troubles did not end here, but Jacob could spend the next two decades in prison for obstructing a federal investigation, HT added. 

Jacob transported the remains of the plane to a hangar at Lompoc City Airport. The parts were then disposed of in an attempt to conceal the evidence of the incident. 

His original video of the stunt with the title “I Crashed My Airplane" has accumulated around 3.1 million views over the course of 18 months. 

The incident reminds people of the fact that the pursuit of online fame should never come at the expense of safety, integrity, and the law.
