PATNA: A 14-year-old Class X girl was allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped before being thrown on the roadside in Kaimur district on Saturday. However, police said one person was involved in the crime and he was arrested. The girl, who is still to regain consciousness, has been admitted to a Bhabhua hospital.
Villagers said the girl was on way to her school when three-four youths kidnapped and took her to a house and allegedly raped her. "On seeing her lying unconscious, we informed the local villagers as well as the police. We rushed her to the local primary health centre (PHC) which referred her to Bhabhua keeping in view her critical condition," social activist
Imran Khan told reporters on Sunday. He announced agitation against police if the accused were not arrested soon.
Dr Nikail Ansari, who provided treatment to the girl at the PHC, said the victim was unconscious when brought to the hospital and he hurriedly referred her to Bhabhua for better treatment. "His father said she suffered sexual assault. She remained unconscious at the PHC," Dr Ansari, the in-charge of Durgawati PHC, informed the local media.
