Koraput: Over 100 people, including women and children between the age of two and three years, fell ill after eating a locally made ice cream at three villages under Semiliguda block in the district on Sunday.
While at least 65 people have been admitted to the community health centre (CHC) at Sunabeda, over 40 are undergoing treatment at Mathalput CHC, police said. The villagers of Badaliguda, Ghatguda and Dudhari had consumed the locally made ice cream purchased from a peddler on Saturday evening, the police added.
“Around midnight those who had eaten the ice cream said they were feeling sick and vomited. They were immediately taken to Sunabeda and Mathalput hospitals. Their condition is now stable,” said Pradumna Mahapatra, IIC of Semiliguda police station.
