HYDERABAD: Hyderabadis braved the
rain to see the first ever drone show in the city, which was held at Durgam Cheruvu, on Sunday.
Though the rain delayed the show by over an hour, denizens waited to see the spectacular show as many as 500 drones were choreographed to depict the progress of Telangana state in various fields in the last 10 years.
Ten years of Telangana, photographs of BR Ambedkar, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Yadadri temple, projects such as Kaleshwaram, T-Hub were depicted using drones. Logos of Telangana State police, Cyberabad police and She Teams along with Jai Telangana, Jai Bharat were some of the highlights at the show.
“I came to watch the show at 7pm along with my son. Though there was a huge delay, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I liked the fact that role of police was highlighted and so did my four-year-old son Shivanshu,” said Madhuri B, who works as a bank manager in the city.
Meher Prasad, an advocate at High Court, who came to the show with his family, said, “This is the first time such a show is being organised in the city. Though it was raining, I did not want to miss it. I enjoyed the show and liked all the depictions displayed.”
The drone show lasted about 10 minutes, but left the audience mesmerised. Denizens were seen grooving to some of the top Tollywood and Bollywood songs along with Telangana folk songs played by the DJs. A laser show was organised before and after the drone show to keep the audience hooked.
Several residents who showed up at the event said the laser show kept them entertained while highlighting the beauty of Durgam Cheruvu which provided a picturesque backdrop.
