Shardul, Kandap Aditri Manya win badminton match

Kanpur: Shardul and Kandap Shreyas won the boys title while Aditri Riyana and Manya won the girls titles in their respective groups in the three-day badminton championship which concluded at Raghavendra Swarup Sports Academy on Sunday.
Shardul Khatri, after trailing in the first game against Atharva Yadav, staged his comeback and won the next two games to win the under-13 boys’ title. He defeated Atharva by 18-21, 21-12, 21-12. In the girls of this age group, Aditri Katiyar outplayed Akshara Bhatia in two straight games by 21-12, 21-19 and won the title.
Riyana Jain in the under-11 age group's final drubbed Paridhi Yadav by 21-18, 21-15. After the finals, Puneeta Tuteja, AK Agarwal (president of Kanpur District Badminton Association), Manisha Agarwal, Anand Kumar, Ravi Dixit and Arun Dubey gave away prizes and certificates to the winners and runner up players. The office-bearers of the Badminton Association and parents of the children were present on the occasion.
KSPL league: Ankur Pandey’s fine knock of 86 runs and Neeraj Pandey's 4 wicket haul helped Crazy Cricket Club beat Tgs Titans by 8 wickets in the Kanpur Super Premier League (KSPL) match played on Saturday evening.
Tgs Titans, batting first, scored 9 for 153 in the stipulated 20 overs. Jatinder Singh (34) and Rahul Pandit (35) were the main scorers. Neeraj Pandey picked 4 wickets for 20 runs. Crazy club in reply scored the required 154 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. Ankur Pandey and Yash Arora contributed unbeaten 87 and 66 runs respectively.
In another match, Blue Warriors defeated Fantastic Eleven by 70 runs. Blue Warriors, putting into bat, scored 5 for 220 and thereafter wrapped the innings of Fantastic Eleven on 150 runs.

Football: The Armapur Club humbled New OP Club by 2-0 in the inaugural match of martyr Capt Ayush Yadav memorial district senior football league played at the Palika stadium on Sunday. The winners netted one goal in each half. In the first half, Shivam Singh scored a goal in the 10th minute and thereafter in the second half, Avinash netted a goal.
Earlier Sanjeev Pathak, former international TT player inaugurated the league. The officials of the District Football Association were present on the occasion.
Monday's fixture: National Sporting v/s New Matchless Club at 3.30 pm and BPL v/s RFC at 4.40 pm.
Kho kho summer camp: District Kho Kho Association will conduct a free summer kho kho coaching camp at HSJS Inter College ground, P.Road from June 6 to June 20. Shivlal Yadav, national player, will give coaching to the players from 4.30 pm to 6.30 pm., said Vipin Sonkar joint secretary, District Kho Kho Association.
